Installation

300/600 mm- and 1200 mm long hardwood floor boards: gluing the tongue-and-groove boards together, either as a floating floor or glued
to the subfloor.

2266 Profiloc: mechanical locking system installation, either as a floating floor or glued to the subfloor.

Because of the challenging nature of gluing to subfloors and installing complex patterns, we recommend using a professional installer. Detailed installation instructions are included in every third hardwood floor package. Please read the directions carefully before starting the work and remember to pay special attention to expansion gaps, subfloor levelness and texture, humidity and other important factors.
Suitable for use with underfloor heating. The surface temperature of the floor must not rise above 27 °C and the temperature must not
fluctuate by more than 5 °C in the course of any 24-hour period. In areas subject to heavier wear and tear we recommend recoating the
floors with, for example, Bona Traffic lacquer after installation.

Care and maintenance

The best way of keeping the hardwood floor in good condition is to stop dirt at the front door with suitable mats and to attach pieces of
felt under the legs of furniture to prevent scratches. Stains and spilt water must be taken care of immediately. For normal cleaning it is
enough to vacuum-clean the floor or wipe it with an almost-dry floor wiper. You may add a small amount of pH-neutral cleansing solution
to the water. Since wood is highly susceptible to variations in humidity, it is important to keep the conditions in the room as stable as possible. The relative humidity of the air should be in the 40-60% range and the ideal temperature is 18-24 °C. We recommend using an air humidifier during dry periods and when heating is in use, as well as maintaining good ventilation in humid conditions.
A professional installer can recondition a lacquered Saima Design hardwood floor by sanding and lacquering a worn lacquered surface.
The Lumi product needs to be treated again with white matt lacquer if it is to maintain its original colour and appearance. Raita, Ruska, and Wirkkala are through-dyed and therefore their colour tone will be retained also in relacquering.
