Saima Wirkkala and Raita models have been nominated as the recipient of the German Design Award 2010.
The Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany is the country's highest distinction in the field of design. Saima was nominated for this competition on account of winning the red dot award. All the participants in the competition have already won some other internationally known prize and the participant must be nominated by the Ministries and Senators of the Federal States and by the German Design Council. Companies cannot nominate themselves, instead the Council invites the participants. Therefore the prize is known as the "Prize of Prizes".
The winners are announced in the Autumn of 2009.
